TRIP PREPARATION
COVID19 VACCINES
Travellers are no longer required to hold a negative test result nor present vaccination certificates upon entry to France. We do, however, advise you to bring along your vaccination certificates to have on hand should they be requested at any point during the journey.
PASSPORTS
You must hold a valid passport to enter France. Your passport should be valid for six months from the date of departure. It is important to note that two clear pages should remain in your passport for it to be valid.
Cash & Credit Cards
Credit cards are widely accepted in Paris, but it is a good idea to have cash on hand for smaller purchases so be sure to have a combination of cash and card.
Language and Culture
French is the predominant language, reflecting the city's rich history and artistic heritage. Parisian culture is diverse, sophisticated, and celebrates art, fashion, and cuisine. The city's landmarks, museums, and vibrant atmosphere contribute to its unique cultural identity. Paris embodies a captivating blend of history, creativity, and joy of life, making it a must-visit destination for immersing oneself in its language and cultural richness.
Gratuities
Gratuities in Paris are generally included in the bill at high-end establishments such as luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and upscale venues. This practice is known as "service compris" or "service included." However, it is customary to leave a small additional tip as a token of appreciation for exceptional service. This extra tip, known as a "pourboire," typically ranges from 5% to 10% of the total bill. It is also common to tip hotel staff, such as concierge, porters, and housekeeping, with a small amount for their assistance. In Paris, tipping is seen as a gesture of goodwill rather than an obligation, and it is always appreciated to acknowledge exceptional service with a gratuity.
Travel Insurance
Adequate, comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you, as well as any dependents/travelling companions, for the duration of the trip, is a compulsory requirement and you should ensure you obtain sufficient cover prior to arrival at your destination. It should include cover in respect of, but not limited to, the following eventualities:
Compulsory Insurance:
Emergency evacuation expenses
Medical expenses
Repatriation expenses
Personal property expenses
Covid19 expenses
