JOSH & ERIC budapest F1
JULY 20TH TO 24TH 2023
Dear Josh & Eric,
The last leg of the Europe trip takes us out of the picturesque Mediterranean nature back into the City. We join the petrol junkies and car enthusiasts at one of the most popular sporting events in the world. The Budapest F1 Grand Prix is set to be an experience of a lifetime. We have created this travel journal to help you get familiar with the daily plan, understand logistics, prepare for travel and get you revved up for this awesome weekend.
The Pangaea team are so looking forward to hosting you all in Budapest, where the sun sets late, the race tracks hum and the good vibes are infinite.
- Andrew and the Pangaea Team

TRIP PREPARATION
COVID19 VACCINES
Travellers are no longer required to hold a negative test result nor present vaccination certificates upon entry to Budapest. We do, however, advise you to bring along your vaccination certificates to have on hand should they be requested at any point during the journey.
PASSPORTS
You must hold a valid passport to enter Hungary. Your passport should be valid for six months from the date of departure from the USA. It is important to note that two clear pages should remain in your passport for it to be valid.
Cash & Credit Cards
Credit cards are widely accepted in Budapest, but it is a good idea to have cash on hand for smaller purchases so be sure to have a combination of cash and card.
Language and Culture
Budapest is a vibrant city with a rich language (Hungarian) and diverse culture. Hungarian, a unique language with roots unrelated to most other European languages, adds to the city's linguistic charm. It blends Eastern and Western influences, boasts stunning architecture, and offers a thriving arts scene. Hungarian cuisine is a must-try. Overall, Budapest is a captivating destination.
Gratuities
In Budapest, gratuities, commonly known as tips, are appreciated for good service in restaurants, bars, and other service establishments. n restaurants, it is common to leave a gratuity of around 10% to 15% of the total bill. Some establishments may include a service charge in the bill, so it's advisable to check before leaving an additional tip. If the service charge is already included, you can round up the bill or leave a small additional amount as a token of appreciation.
Travel Insurance
Adequate, comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you, as well as any dependents/travelling companions, for the duration of the trip, is a compulsory requirement and you should ensure you obtain sufficient cover prior to arrival at your destination. It should include cover in respect of, but not limited to, the following eventualities:

ATTIRE RECOMMENDATION
The recommended attire for the city is that of any other inland European city in summer. At night, Men tend to wear jeans/trousers and anything from a stylish t-shirt to long sleeve dress shirts and jackets (if cool enough). Even if it's hot, men still wear jeans/trousers at night. I recommend a few shirts for higher-end establishments but for the rest of it such as ruin bars ,it's very casual affair. For F1 race days, dress comfortably, wear the appropriate footwear for walking, and prepare for the weather and climate of the day - it is usually quite hot. In the Paddock Club the general dress code usually is smart-casual. One important note is that we are not permitted to wear any team clothing, any team-branded clothing, race suits, jumpsuits, and some tracks do not even permit team colors to be worn.
